Maria maria acha kutscher

annecy. música al carrer. 2005

I define myself as a feminist artist. Many women artists are afraid to call themselves feminists, because this can have negative repercussions on their careers (and by this I don’t mean that all women artists have to be feminists). But in my case, the starting point in my work is the woman seen from a feminist perspective, so I was never afraid to define myself as a feminist artist, for me it was important the claim, otherwise I would not have been able to develop my work honestly.[4] [5] [6]
The «Womankind» project consisted of several series of digital photographic collages, created from archival images, from the Internet, magazines, books and photographs taken by the artist. The series function as fictitious documents and the protagonists are always women.[9] Among her most recognized projects is «Women».
Among her most recognized projects is «Mujeres Trabajando para Mujeres» (Women Working for Women), which is divided into four series: Visual Bios, Behind Him, Indignadas and Made in Latin America.[7]
