Specifically, this youthful work of the Italian genius will be «one of the centerpieces» of the exhibition ‘Michelangelo and the ideal body’ that can be seen at the National Museum of Western Art in Tokyo between June 19 and September 24.
Albendea has commented that the exhibition will address «the ideals of male beauty from ancient Greece to Michelangelo», so that on the basis of the work of the temple ubetense and the David Apollo of the National Museum of Bargello in Florence and through about 70 pieces will explore the human ideal in these periods.
